Stories from Adhik Mas Nu Nitya Chintan
Hitendra Gandhi and Jyotsna Shah wrote Adhik Mas Nu Nitya Chintan (અધિક માસનું નિત્ય ચિંતન) — 30 daily reflective essays for the month of Purushottam Maas. The book was published in June 2023 by The PrintWorks, Mumbai, and contains each essay in Gujarati with an English translation. All 30 chapters are also available as audio narrations — the Gujarati audio is voiced by Dushyant Mehta and Sandhya Shah, and the English audio is generated using Sarvam.ai.
The essays are not retellings of old stories. They are conversations — between a tradition that has endured for millennia and a generation that is searching for what endures. Each one begins with a teaching from our tradition and asks: what does this mean for the life you are living right now?

How This Project Came to Be
AdhikMaas.com is a family project. It began with a simple observation: the beautiful essays in Adhik Mas Nu Nitya Chintan existed as a physical book, but the families who needed them most — scattered across time zones, from Ahmedabad to Atlanta to Auckland — had no easy way to read them together.
We built this site to change that. One story published each day during Adhik Maas. An email delivered each morning. A card to share in the family WhatsApp group. So that a grandmother in Gujarat and her grandchildren in California could read the same story on the same day, and talk about it that evening.
This is digital preservation in its simplest form — taking a tradition that has been passed from person to person for centuries, and making sure it can travel across the internet the same way it once traveled across kitchen tables.
AdhikMaas.com brings these essays to families around the world, one day at a time, with the authors’ blessing.
All stories from Adhik Mas Nu Nitya Chintan by Hitendra Gandhi & Jyotsna Shah, presented with their permission for free educational use. Contemporary reflections written for 2026 with the assistance of AI, reviewed and approved by the authors.
